i didnt love this one on tap, a little fuller feeling and sweeter, and despite being fresh and even somewhat distinctive on the hop side, it was heavy and slow for me, not as good a beer with spicy food as i hoped it would be, and sort of oily and slick feeling, a little much for summer weather despite the name. really hazy and dense looking, but also still with some glow, orange juice color brightness and a decent creamy white head on top. the nose is citra forward but there are others, oddly almost greasy to me, fresh cut citrus, lemongrass, and a curious almost belgian ester than makes me think the yeast might have been a little stressed during fermentation, pear and white wine and even some spiciness. a bit of juicy melon up front in the flavor, a light tasting but hefty feeling wheaty type grain base, off dry. green grape, cut flowers, sweet orange, a little cannabis dankness to it and sticky character, a honey note, and a little zizzle from the ferment. not bad, nice and fresh and juice forward, a good hop combination, but a bit of a weird build for a tropical type ipa, even a little exposed alcohol pushing this bigger still, and another near miss for boss rambler overall, so many of theirs have been good not great, still waiting for the magic or for the beer inside the can to match the branding...

Pours a cloudy straw orange with a half finger of head that dissipates to a thin cap with some lacing. Aroma of peach, papaya, and mango. Taste follows nose. A bit chewy.

Tropics Trip pours hazy & golden. Thin, lasting head.
Smells like fresh pineapple & papaya. Very fruit forward.
Flavor is as expected from the smell, and is very tropical. Sweet all the way through, with a bit of booze at the finish. (7.2% ABV)
Mouthfeel is soft. No bite whatsoever.
Overall, I really enjoyed this beer, as with all beers I have had an opportunity to try from Boss Rambler.
