still getting acquainted with these guys, cool to see some flavors trickling into idaho. this is a basic kettle sour type base, seems wheaty, simple, well soured but not overly acidic, just clean, and its done with pineapple and orange, real fruit it seems, more of the latter than the former, but both add a lot to this. pale yellow straw beer with just a short layer of fizz on top and a nose of tangy orange juice from the carton, a from concentrate sort of vibe, some lemon, and some sweet tropical essence that isnt pineapple specific to me. light cereal grain in the mix, nothing from the actual ferment, pretty tidy. the flavor is similar, nice compatible acidity that is clean and highlights the fruit well, light middle sweetness from the pineapple and the grain together, but still light on the palate overall, just a little starchy. the orange has some oils, some serious juiciness, and just a little bitterness late which keeps it balanced. i like the overall simplicity of this, the professional and limited lacto souring, and the way it seems to not be packed with lactose and vanilla and all desserty the way so many of these have gone in recent years. medium body, hearty and beery enough, not all fruit and acid, fresh and flavorful, a little sugary, but overall enjoyable and better than a lot of its peers. ill keep trying these boss rambler beers if they keep sending them!
