473ml can poured into tulip.
Pours black with one finger of rocky brown head that leaves a nice solid sheet of lace as it recedes.
Smells of toast and coffee, roasted caramel malt, dark chocolate shavings, wood smoke and some mild weedy hops.
Tastes of creamy iced coffee, more dark roasted malt, bitter chocolate, smoky ash, black licorice, lactose sweetness and faint hop bitters.
Feels soft and smooth. Medium bodied with silky carbonation. Finishes on the chewy side.
Verdict: Recommended. Great for the lovely spring weather we're having here in Edmonton.

A- This brew pours thick and rich.....kind of looks like motor oil....used! The head is creamy in appearance, tan in color, while the retention is alright I suppose, with a two finger thick layer quickly turning into a kind of thick, kind of thin patchwork covering the liquid. The lacing seems decent enough, with many wee bubbles clinging ever so gently to the inside of the glass. Overall this presents itself as a good looking stout....just a weak-ish head.
S- Right off the bat I get a fair bit of bittering black or chocolate malt bitterness, which is followed up by fairly prominent day old black coffee, cocoa, damp Earth and roots and dare I say I keep getting a smoked sausage aroma....yes I checked for it again and again, but it keeps popping up. The finish is dry, with perhaps a small whiff of hop extract and mellow cola undertones. It is quite the blend of smells overall keeping my interest peaked!
T- The flavors are quite nice and the 'milk' portion of the style shows itself in this department. I get a nice cream enriched chocolate flavor initially, with follow up flavors of mocha coffee, charred malts, bitter cocoa that hits the sides of my tongue, yeasty dry biscuit, molasses, and an Earthy dry hopped finish. Not as sweet as I was imagining it would be yet it meets my palate with an intriguing blend of tastes! Edit....as this warms, the sweetness from the lactose becomes more dominant, earning bonus points
M/O- Probably the best part of my experience with this one, as I find the mouthfeel to be super creamy, with the carbonation being soft in texture and the body being medium full in thickness, much like I anticipated when looking at the pour. The alcohol hides itself well and I think the drinkability factor is rather high too. I am thinking the more I sip at this one, the more I'm liking it....however.....it is not the best milk stout out there, but it is good for sure! Give it a try I say......a decent Alberta brewing effort.

Appearance - Pours a jet cola black with two fingers of frothy mocha head.
Smell - earthy, leafy, and floral hops, cocoa, roasted malts, coffee bean, caramel, and earthy yeast.
Taste - earthy, leafy, and floral hops upfront. The cocoa, roasted malts, and coffee bean make their presence known next. The brew is finished off by the caramel and earthy yeast.
Mouthfeel - Medium bodied with light to moderate carbonation. Finishes silky smooth although maybe a touch dry with the cocoa, malts, and coffee bean lingering.
Overall - A pleasant milk stout that is chalk full of flavour. Perfect tipple for this slightly cool summer evening here in Cowtown!

473ml can - 'pairs well with burgers and beauties'. Heh.
This beer pours a fairly solid black abyss, with the scantest of amber basal edges, and two fingers of puffy, loosely foamy, and bubbly brown head, which leaves some decent cannonball splash aftermath lace around the glass as it quickly evaporates.
It smells of lightly roasted, bready and doughy caramel malt, bittersweet cocoa powder, subtle cafe-au-lait, a hint of licorice spiciness, and some very tame earthy, musty, and dead floral hops. The taste is gritty and grainy cereal malt, some free-range ashiness, day-old coffee grounds, lactose sugars, anise spice, and more well-understated leafy, herbal, and musky floral hoppiness.
The carbonation is average in its palate-pleasing frothiness, the body a so-so medium weight, and mostly smooth, but for a generic smokey/spicy character kind of taking things down a notch or two at this point in the game. It finishes trending dry, the just-mentioned essences presiding.
Overall - this comes across as a well-made version of the style, if not a particularly sweet one. The extra bit of ABV is certainly hard to notice, making for a swell sipper as I watch the falling snow finally obscure my view of daylight from the basement window.
