Poured from howler purchased at Alberta Beer Exchange.
Howler was filled July 17 so this one is pretty fresh.
Appearance - Pours a hazy gold with two fingers of frothy white head.
Smell - banana, clove, coriander, hint of bubblegum, earthy and leafy hops, bready malts, and earthy yeast.
Taste - banana, clove, coriander, bubblegum upfront. The earthy and leafy hops alongside the bready malts come through next. The earthy yeast rounds out the brew.
Mouthfeel - Medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Finishes sticky with all the elements lingering.
Overall - A highly flavourful hefe that displays the taste of banana very well. The concept is interesting and they nailed it with the extra banana in the "banana split". I wish the banana aroma was a little more predominant in the aroma but otherwise an engageable brew. Worth a try if you come across it!
