This was a tap only at the brewery but Collective here in Cowtown got their hands on a keg.

Poured from a growler purchased at Collective.

Appearance - Pours a dark amber hue with three fingers of off-white head.

Smell - mild earthy and floral hops, caramel, dark fruits (plum, raisin, fig), hint of peat, bready malts, and earthy yeast.

Taste - mild earthy and floral hops upfront. The caramel and dark fruits (plum, raisin, and fig) come through next. There is some peat and smoky characteristics that present themselves. The bready malts and earthy yeast round out the brew.

Mouthfeel - Medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Finishes sticky from the malts and fruits.

Overall - A solid representation of the scotch ale/wee heavy style. Although, I would've liked to see some more peat and smoke this one plays it more to the traditional style of things. Not a bad thing whatsoever. A pleasure to try from these guys.
