It's not just a pretentious name, it's also a special beer. Our friends next door at Djinn Spirits had a couple of malt whisky barrels who were looking for a good home a few months ago. We kindly took them in and filled them with our Descent Maple Pecan Imperial Stout. We then added more maple syrup and let them re-ferment in the barrel and age for 3 months, after which we hand bottled into 750ml bottles dipped in wax.⠀
The maple and pecan flavors in Complicated Truths have taken a back seat to the malt whisky and oak barrel flavors from the aging process. Rich, slightly sweet, but dry enough to want more.
