Our Binary Stars IPA series features Citra plus a second great hop. This time it’s Riwaka. Until now it’s been near impossible to get Riwaka. Grown in New Zealand, it rarely makes it off the island. And it’s easy to see why the Kiwis want to keep it for themselves - so juicy and nice. We finally managed to get our hands on some, and decided to use Binary Stars to showcase it.

Wowzers, this is less than 3 weeks old... glad it caught my eye. I've not have much Riwaka, and apparently it's right up my taste buds' alley. Pours a beautifully opaque light yellow with a nice thick white cap. Aromas are juicy and malty. Flavors are ideally balanced, and so smooth. Finish has just a touch of hop bitter that perfectly rounds it out. I could drink a billion of these.

Poured into a 16 oz Snulip glass canned 5/15/26. Pours a very attractive milky yellow with a solid finger plus sticky white head that leaves webs of lace with excellent retention. 4.75
Aroma tangerine, mango, peach, passionfruit, and apricot. 4.5
Taste follows tangerine, mango, passionfruit, peach, and apricot. 4.5
Mouthfeel is above medium, soft gentle carbonation, not sticky or dry, and at 7.2% bigger flavor but very crushable. 4.5
