Collaboration with Branch and Blade Brewing
Time Crystals is a thick fruited sour ale. We thickened this 7.5% sour ale with milk sugar to give it a thick smooth mouthfeel, and a few gallons of black strap molasses in the kettle. We added strawberry, raspberry, cranberry, and black currants vanilla, and cinnamon, and dry “hopped” with granola cereal.

16 oz can into a tulip glass.
Pours a deep maroon color with a finger of pinkish white head. Very little retention. Leaves some random spots of lacing.
Strong aromas of fresh cranberries, raspberry and strawberry yogurt, with some light fig, raisin granola bars and vanilla cream. Other than the lack of cinnamon, comes exactly as advertised.
The flavor is basically a yogurt parfait: Lots of strawberry yogurt, raspberry and blackberry yogurt, cranberries, raisin bran, and granola cereal. Some light vanilla on the finish.
The feel is medium-full bodied with lower carbonation. Exceptionally creamy and soft with a dry, sticky finish.
Overall I'd say this is definitely a good kettle sour. The ingredients are nicely integrated without becoming muddled, and it definitely drinks like a fruit smoothie. The cinnamon is non-existent, and I suppose the molasses is used to enhance the mouthfeel but other than that, you're getting exactly what you should expect from the description.

Poured into a 20 oz Snulip glass canned on 1/12/2021. Pours a very attractive pinkish purple with a solid finger fairly sticky white with pinkish hues, that leaves some thin lines of lace with solid retention. 4.75
Aroma is rhubarb, plum, strawberry, raspberry, cranberry, granola, and vanilla. 4.25
Taste follows rhubarb, plum, strawberry, raspberry, cranberry, granola, and nice hints of vanilla in the bold palate recking finish. 4.25
Mouthfeel is above average, not overly carbonated for the style, I always get a dry feeling with most sours, and at 7.5% ABV loaded with flavor, but still approachable. 4.5
Overall a great collaboration with Spyglass Brewing and Branch and Blade Brewing. .4.25
