A non fungible (what does that mean anyway!?) Double IPA based on the Blockchain grist. We changed the hops up to a secret combo giving notes of honeydew melon and peaches.

Many thanks to SawDog505 for this can!
A - Dark golden tan color with dense, creamy, soapy off-white colored lacing and little to no carbonation.
S - Melon and peaches are screaming in this beer with a spicy vengeance on the nose, along with apricot, and pineapple rind peppery spice.
T - Peaches, melon (honeydew), some pineapple rind, a little bit of spice, and an overall juicy vinous character.
M - Big body, chewy, and silky soft with very little dryness.
O - A fine example of the Northeast style right here.

Poured into a 16 oz Snulip glass canned on 5/13/21. Pours a hazy yellow with a finger sticky white head that leaves thin lines of sticky lace, with excellent retention. 4.5
Aroma honeydew, mandarin, peach, guava, and apricot. 4.25
Taste follows honeydew, mandarin, guava, peach, and apricot big on flavor low on bitterness. 4.25
Mouthfeel is big, soft creamy carbonation, not sticky or dry, and at 8.1% extremely easy drinking. 5
Overall this is another excellent NEDIPA from a great fairly young brewery. Highly recommend this one. 4.5

Ah, yes, NFTs... basically, these are like a piece of media (literally any kind of media but I guess it's mostly an "art world" thing in a sense at this particular point in time) that is entirely individual because it has its specific "existence" irrevocably tied to a unique blockchain. How... um... I dunno, dystopian? I learned about this stuff earlier and I already didn't like cryptocurrency, but now I'm just casting sideways glances at capitalism as a whole even though I am wholly contained within it. Ya know, man? Like, it's inescapable... anyway, beer.
Pours a moderate-orange opaque beer into my nonic pint glass, building up a few fingers of head that settle down to a half-finger sudsy collar that itself leaves behind a thick trail of lacing as it fades. The surface is completely hazed over and covered with foam, but the appearance overall looks a bit too milky to be overly attractive to me. That said, these guys make mostly cloudy IPAs like this and they all have this sort of nonchalance, which at this point is (for better or worse) somewhat of the regular approach for this style. Not my favorite looking NEIPA, though.
The nose is very odd. They claim this is both kettle and dry-hopped with an "experimental blend of hops," and, honestly, this smells not great. I get a funky, pear/melon like element that pretty much eclipses the rest of whatever could possibly be happening here. Hints of orange cleaning solution, light overripe mango, and pineapple without much else going on. It has an odd leafy, earthy, musty, almost mushroom-like element, as well. Not really sure what to expect here.
Lots of pear, mango, and melon here with some lighter undercurrents of strawberry and grassiness with a hefty ester component. Tastes a little dirty and unusual, but better than expected I think. That said, it's still really not my thing, though I don't think that means it doesn't have a place in the current NEIPA realm. It's nicely drinkable for its weight, with a soft and chewy mouthfeel that is somewhat like the original beer it's based on (Blockchain; the name of this one makes sense now, eh?). It's definitely experimental and not in the way I really love, but your mileage may vary. If you love pear/melon/stone fruit, this may be more up your alley. I prefer a bit more resin/dankness with these flavors to balance them, so I'd pass on a second can honestly.

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
