From a 16oz can, dated 11/22/21. Served in a willi becher pub glass.
Pours a crystal-clear, super-pale honey-gold with two fingers of soft, whipped suds. Retention is excellent, leaving a thick cap and a solid curtain of lacing.
Nose is sharp, yeasty and bready af. Aroma of hearty rustic peasant white bread. It makes my mouth water.
Taste is bold and intensely bready. There’s an earthy, almost potato-like character, and a suggestion of lemon water, but mainly it’s all about the big hearty yeasty white bread. Pilsner with the volume turned up past 11.
Feel is rich, round and chewy, medium-thick bodied and brightly carbonated.
Overall, absolutely flawless. I always wonder whether it’s actually the beer or whether it’s me at any particular moment on any given day but, it seems to me that this is one of the best, and certainly the most flavorful, pilsners I’ve ever had.
