A hybrid of an English IPA and an American Pale Ale this is our flagship IPA. A split base malt bill of Marris Otter and 2-Row and dry hopped with Citra gives this IPA a balanced yet restrained approach to the west coast American classic.

16 oz can from Spikes. Amber pour with ring of foamy head. Light dank aroma, musty. Taste is malty followed by more dank hops. Not much too this, pretty light on the palate.

Pours clear, no haze, with lots of throwback hoppy goodness. Think pine and grapefruit, and a bracing bitterness that reminds you of 2010. It’s a little uneven and rough around the edges but still my favorite thing I’ve had tonight.

Canned 08/04 I think
Pours a frothy foamy creamy almost 1 finger head with moderate retention, lots of soapy lacing, hazy pale orange color
Nose brings juicy fresh hops, citrus, a touch of pine, some peachy stone fruit a little pithy, light sweet malt
Taste brings a bit of sweet malt, just enough to prop up the hops, lots of citrus, orange, tangerine, a bit pithy, a little stone fruit, a little tropical, getting a touch piney and spicy late, finishes on the drier side, med-higher bitterness getting a touch spicy grassy and orange rind
Mouth is med to a bit fuller bod, med carb
Overall nice west-coast style IPA

On tap at The Station Burger (Berkeley, CA) poured into a 16 oz isar beer stein. Bright, clear, amber gold with a frothy head of white foam. Pine resin, slight caramel and plenty of orange citrus (tangerine) on the nose and tongue. Pleasantly bitter and balanced. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Nice pint to wash down a burger after running the Berkeley Half Marathon.

Gold appearance. with a nice foamy head. A mild IPA with a hint of citrus and resiny hops. Moderately bitter with a clean finish. Definitely West Coast.

Pulling weeds in the garden, mid-summer, Chicago, cicadas combining with mowers for a low buzz over the sweaty, humidity-soaked pseudo swimming pool atmosphere. It's satisfying. Imagine the AC-cooled recliner you sink into after a job well-done.
