Comes in a standard brown half liter bottle with a quite professional multi-colored label featuring the name "Rausch Bier" in big letters in German, and a small, difficult to read Russian translation meaning "Beer 'Rausch' Pale Pasteurized." Rice is an ingredient. Bottled on 10/9/03, I opened it on 11/2/03.
Pours a slightly orangish clear gold under a thin fizzy white head that disappears in a flash. No film, no collar, no lace. The nose has a sickly sweet character that is almost medicinal. The mouth is prickly and slightly heavier than light., thanks to the sweetness. There's a certain herbal character to the taste, almost like mint. This is accompanied by some pretty standard malt and a taste of rice. The hops are subdued at best, coming out weakly in the finish and lingering along with the cough syrup into the aftertaste. This review sounds more horrible than the overall impression, but I still won't be looking to have another.

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
