A perfect marriage of German malt, English hops and Belgian yeast. Ripe fruit balanced with floral hops.

On tap at Sager Beer Works in Rochester, NY.
This one pours a mostly clear dirty orange color, with a small head, and lots of lacing.
This smells like pear, grassy hops, peach, clove, and berry.
This is a tough style to nail, and Sager has basically done it, with a nice berry, pear, and citrusy hop character, some definite breadiness from the malt, and a touch of floral and clovey bitterness from the Belgian yeast. I can’t even remember the last time I had a Belgian IPA, really.
This is light bodied, and pretty drinkable, with a nice bite on the finish.
I was pleasantly surprised with this one.
