On tap at Fattey Beer Company in Rochester, NY.
This one pours a fairly dark brown color, with a small head, and lots of lacing.
This smells chocolatey, with some roast, a touch of light fruitiness, and a very faint hop character.
This didn’t necessarily taste bad, but I absolutely wanted a stronger hop character here – more bitterness, more pine, what have you. There’s a faint bitterness – this kind of just tastes like an average porter. It’s chocolatey, semi roasty, typical porter stuff – but nothing leaps out of the glass here. It’s just a bit boring, I guess.
This is creamy, but a little bit thin, but it’s pretty drinkable.
This was inoffensive but fairly unsuccessful as a black IPA.
