Brauerei Flügge “Bene”
,33L brown glass bottle; “Mindestens haltbar bis: 18.03.23”. Sampled on 25.09.21
€4,10 @ Naiv, Frankfurt, DE
Notes via stream of consciousness: Nice label as always with a painting of a bird. Collaboration with Wilder Wald. Brewed with barley and wheat. OK let’s see… it’s a hazy, very light straw gold in color beneath a short head of bright white that drops to an average collar. The lacing is actually pretty good for being a sour beer although it does eventually disappear. The aroma is mineralish with apple and peach. The flavor is mineralish and fruity as well, and not really that sour, It’s tart but not puckering by any stretch, and the light sweetness of the malt balances it perfectly. It’s not at all that bitter, yet it finishes dry due to the acidity with some apple and peach lingering shortly. In the mouth it’s light to light-medium in body and crisp. It reminds me in many ways of Apfelwein. Pleasant and refreshing!
