Pours a murky, dirty orange with two fingers of frothy white foam that retains well. Aroma is a wallop of citrus right up front. Citrus and tropical fruits specifically hit notes of tangerine, grapefruit, mandarin orange and papaya. There is very light malt backbone behind. What malt is there, comes through in notes of nutty and earthy. Flavor profile is orange, papaya, mango, tangerine, grapefruit, cracked black pepper and nutty, earthy, bready malts. Nice roundness from the hops to the malts, allowing a smooth transition in the flavor profile. Mouth feel is medium-thick with a fuzzy, bubbly texture. Overall, splendid mashing and pairing of hops to malts, with it coming off sugary at the onset, but balanced and grounded by the final residual notes.
