Pours black with a finger of dense, khaki foam. Head retention is great. Aroma is peaty whiskey with a little boozy heat seeping through. Roasty, toasty, nutty, caramely malts form the beer base, with just a little lactose and char in the mix. Flavor profile is roasty, toasty, nutty, earthy, caramely malts with the peaty whiskey cutting straight through the mix. Whiskey adds a bit of heat, but compliments the malt well. A little lactose, char, toffee and molasses add a little additional depth and balance. Mouth feel is thick, with a fuzzy, lightly fizzily texture. It sits heavy. Overall, big, boozy beer, especially for 10%.
