Hand delivered to Moscow by a colleague resident on Sakhalin, this came in a brown plastic 1.5 liter bottle with a pleasant label featuring a sailing ship (Korsakov is a big port). Ingredients conform to the purity law. Bottled on 12/16/03, I opened it on 12/20/03.
Pours a clear deep gold under almost no head whatsoever. The few fizz bubbles a hard pour produced faded very quickly. The nose has that sour malt and stale bread quality all too familiar in mediocre Russian beers. The mouth is fairly flat, and heavy with the sourness. The taste opens sweet and sour, like overripe grain or spoiled potatoes. There's very little hop to chase this bad impression, so the finish is sour and the aftertaste quite unpleasant. Not a good effort.

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
