Smooth and refreshing, this German schwarzbier has notes of toasted chocolate and roasted coffee.

Had on tap. Brownish black opaque body with a khaki head and plenty of lacing. Smells of cocoa, semi-sweet chocolate, gently roasted malt, coffee with a hint of char that is a bit odd. Taste removes this oddity with coffee and roasted malt before the chocolate and dark yeast kick in. Feel is light and dry, easy drinking but lacks some pizzazz on the finish

Dark brew under a moderate head that settles to a film and trails along some pretty good lace. Brittle nose, slightly metallic, just a little malt and a whiff of chocolate. A touch of sourness. Thin bodied. A little semi-sweet chocolate to taste, a touch of ash. Pretty one dimensional, a take it or leave it sort of brew.
Nope. Not a 5.

Fantastic beer! We are lacking good dark lagers in Ontario and this one is just fantastic. Easy drinking but beautiful black colour and very flavourful with notes of chocolate. Very impressive!
