Pours a foggy dark orange with a finger of white fizzy foam atop. Aroma is stone, earth, and funky undertone with jalapeno, salt, basil, and lime jutting out of it like some enormous sculpture above a baseplate. It hits slightly spicy, thanks to the jalapeno, and is balanced out by lime and basil. The light funky undertone keeps it refreshing, and not gimmicky. Flavor profile is lime, basil, stone, lemon zest, grassy hops, and jalapeno. It's dynamically shaped, offering a lightly funky start that grows spicy tones towards the 2/3 point, then breaking away with a refreshing squeeze of lime and salt. The lime and salt come on hard enough the finish drinks like a tequila chaser. Basil is the redeeming note here, adding that twangy, herbal bite that works to neutralize some of the peaks and valleys for a more smooth taste. Mouth feel is medium in thickness with a very mild texture. Effervescence is thin and soft. Overall, it's certainly very intriguing, and would prove refreshing in the summer heat. It falls just short of being gimmicky, although it leans into that word hard.

Served in a 15.5oz Spiegelau tulip from a 750mL bottle.
