Look: poured into a Belgian tulip, dark brown that turns red/orange at the fringes when held up to the light. One finger khaki head that turns to a thin ring around the edge.
Smell: caramel, malt, maple, a bit of alcohol on the nose. A little citrus or something fruity that's hard to describe.
Taste: deep roasted malt, creamy, charcoal, coffee bitterness at the end. Something a little off in the finish, maybe it's a tad funky. A little tobacco lingers. Alcohol is hiding well.
Feel: a bit chewy, creamy smooth. Maybe my favorite thing about the beer.
Not bad at all. I wish I could pinpoint the taste that's a bit off, but it doesn't drop it too much in my book.

2021, 3rd anniversary bottling. Released September 18, 2021.
Poured from a 22 oz. bottle into a Snörkel tulip.
Dark brown to almost black body, lovely latte khaki colored head.
Aromas of vanilla, roasted malt, dark fruits.
Taste is dark drown sugar, bourbon, vanilla and dark unsweetened chocolate.
Mouthfeel is a little thin for what I typically think of for and RIS. There's a nice lingering of flavors. Alcohol is hidden very well.
Overall, a decently done BBA RIS for a 2nd year in a row. Really easy to drink and the bourbon is not overpowering at all.
