first Wildflower in a 375 for me... and boy is it a step up!
Pour looks a little thin, head fades quickly, aromas of - wait for it - vino!
Bu the taste is sooo complex, so vinous, whilst still being light and delicate.
Light in mouth
But really, just oh so drinkable - i could smash this all night.

375ml bottle, packaged 4/7/18.

Pours a hazy orange yellow with a minimal head of foam, sparse lacing.

Unmistakable aroma of those grapes, oaky, light Brett.

Delicious! The grape flavours are superb. Light funk and that barrel aged goodness shine. Pretty tart but not excessively sour.

Light side of medium bodied, carbonation is on the lower side.

Truly a joy to drink.

just a beautiful beer, my first from these guys, and to be honest, the first i have ever really hard of them, looks like some really cool funky beer is what they are all about. the st. florence has been done with different grapes in different years it sounds like, but this was done with sauv blanc, and its brilliant. a really mature base saison type, fully wild, bretty and even sort of lambic-esque, with a similar grain profile, that kind of sourness, and wonderful oak flavor to it. its also its own thing though, must be some interesting wild agents in australia, this tastes like it came from somewhere different and i like that. i was immediately impressed by the quality and refinement of the base beer, even before the fruit, its just really flavorful, light, dry, and fizzy, unique and rustic, very good. the grapes are awesome too, i think quite true to the varietal, subtle kiwi and melon notes to them, a dried flowery thing, and so totally compatible with the wild yeast. its crazy how flavorful the fruit is in here, but that there is almost zero residual sugar, they have contributed to much without needing any of that. strong oak and tannins later on, a wine character too, like the grapes have started to turn into wine in here, almost like some good sauv blanc is blended in, but i still taste a lot of grain too. great execution on this, a cool process and a total success! ill be on the hunt for more from these guys!
