Pours an incredibly thick, viscous, oily consistency. Dark, dark black, shiny and completely opaque. A vigorous pour results in just a thin weak mocha colored head. That head dissipates pretty quickly leaving no residual head.
The aroma on this is quote nice with notes of roasted hazelnuts, roasted malts, and chocolate. The way the roasted hazelnuts come across in the nose its reminiscent of a hazelnut flavored coffee.
Taste follows the nose with notes of roasted hazelnuts, chocolate, caramel, roasted malts, with a moderate roasty bitterness towards the back end. Moderately sweet.
Feel is thick, sticky and viscous. Mild carbonation.
Overall a really nice stout - the hazelnuts are able to shine so nicely in this.
