Collaboration with Black Horizon Brewing Company
“We teamed up with our homies over at Black Horizon to conjure up one of the biggest and most decadent stouts we’ve ever brewed! We then took it one step further by infusing the base beer with 6 different kinds of cocoa nibs and 3 different vanilla bean varieties until we found the perfect pairing to take this collab to next level.
The resulting beer takes caramel and biscuit notes from the base beer and layers it with flavors of vanilla ice cream and liquified baker’s chocolate!

A stout that uses Warcraft font and theme is a must buy. I was so excited grabbing this off the shelf, it was destiny.
The vanilla bean is aggressive here and I like that. You get the full robust flavor and then the cocoa comes in for a nice blend. It is a boozy stout for sure but they contained it just right. What an overall experience.

Released 2/8/22; drank 6/4/22 @ the Yarchives.
Black/brown appearance.
A rough pour yielded a small, noisy head which quickly dissipated; minimal lace.
Bakers chocolate, cherry syrup & vanilla notes in the nose.
Medium thick, sticky mouthfeel.
Bakers chocolate, vanilla, cherry syrup flavors, with an abrasive dryness on the finish. Strong booze heat emerged as this warmed.
An uneasy alliance between a Russian Imperial Stout and the usual pastry bullshit; this isn't a melding of the styles so much as a perversion of both. Not recommended.

Served from the can in a Lagunitas mason jar.
Pours a rich obsidian topped by a finger of dark-ish tan foam. The nose comprises chocolate powder, roasted malts, mild vanilla, and a hint of bourbon (though I have no idea where that's coming from, considering this wasn't barreled). The taste brings in more of the same, though the core is pervaded by a sort of burnt pumpernickel character. The overall effect is more akin to a rye-based stout than an unpleasant barley-based, to be clear. The body is a hefty medium, with a light moderate carbonation and a mostly smooth feel. Though I'm not sure the adjuncts really shine here, and I think things are just a bit on the thin side, this ain't too bad a stout, really, pretty enjoyable.
