750 ml bottle into a snifter. A 2023 release, had on 4/20/24. Also had on tap near release date, 4/11/23.
Pours near black and opaque, with no head and some light oily cling. Aromas of bourbon, grape brandy, chocolate, roasted malt, vanilla, oak, light apple brandy, light leather. The flavors play out about the same way: bourbon, grape brandy, roasted malt, vanilla, oak, some chocolate, light apple brandy. Smooth, a very good full body, appropriately carbonated.
Terrific bourbon and grape brandy barrel presence to go with a solid base beer. Many distinct aromas and flavors. Seem to recall the apple brandy barrels have a little more impact on tap. This is a really creative recipe. Really enjoyable.
