500 ml bottle into a snifter. A 2023 release, had 3/1/24.
Pours near black and opaque, with no head and an oily smear on the glass. Lots of floating coconut bits. Aromas of bourbon, chocolate, vanilla, coconut, oak, roasted malt. Similar flavors: bourbon, coconut, chocolate, vanilla, roasted malt, light oak. Smooth, somewhat creamy, a thick and excellent full body, appropriately carbonated.
Strong, delicious barrels and an exuberant amount of each of the add- ins. Really thick. An excellent effort.

poured from a white-waxed 500mL
bottle into a Rev deep woods tumbler. pours a thick, shiny black with lots of coconut floaties (like literally a couple strands of shredded coconut). sweet vanilla and coconut on the nose with the barrels in the background providing charred oak, whiskey and more vanilla. taste almost contrasts the nose with heavy chocolate plus barrel char and bourbon sting. there’s still some coconut and vanilla sweetness in the finish but i love how chocolate-forward this tastes. the cocoa nibs (and possibly even the base stout) are complimented quite well by the coconut, vanilla and barrels. stains the glass with legs running down it. thick, viscous mouthfeel. almost reminds me of a ww medianoche except more drinkable, not so goober-like or gelatinous. definitely lower on the carbonation. sits heavy on the tongue and on the finish. really good stuff. is it sweet? sure but nothing seems artificial or sugary fake and the barrels really help balance everything out.
