A dark malty beer that has been lagered in second fill oak whiskey barrels for a super smooth and surprisingly light finish. Our Doppelbock or "Double Bock" is a bigger version of our popular Bock lager brewed with English ingredients. Munich and Double Roasted Crystal malt bring big biscuit, raisin and plumb notes, whilst the Pilgrim hops balance with notes of spice and subtle pine. Oak lagered for over 6 months to let the flavours mellow and create a special lager beer

L: Clear, mahogany colour with a thin but creamy, mocha head.
S: Malty, spicy and hot.
T: Follows the nose, albeit not quite as bold. Loads of sultana and raisin with liquorice in the background.
F: Medium body and smooth and oily mouthfeel becomes a tad thin in the finish… which is surprising for 8% ABV.
O: Starts well, finishes disappointing. Needs some carbonation.
