Black, opaque black, some visible lacing. Aroma is coffee, chocolate and spice. Only slightly sweet, mostly bitter like coffee. THEN the pepper sneaks up after you swallow. The heat is not foreshadowed in the aroma or taste. It sneaks up as an aftertaste and blossoms into a rather irresistible desire to take another sip. Mouthfeel is medium with soft carbonation and a peppery finish. This beer was made as part of an agreement amongst Akron area brewers to create a beer that pays homage to the Black Lives Matter movement. I call it a massive success! My only regret is that when it's gone, it's gone.
