From a 12 oz bottle from the brewery 4 mix pack of 4 different BBA brews in a snifter.
This interesting brew pours a dark blackish brown with a moderate head of khaki foam
that settles to a thin ring with faint lacing. Nose of faint bourbon, oak, vinous wine notes,
char, and dark breaded notes, and spices. Hard to pick any one thing out. It's muted but loud
at the same time. Flavors follow the nose but exceed with a presentation of oak, vinous wine
notes, brandy, bourbon, char, dark coffee, black pepper, bitter bakers chocolate, brewers licorice,
leather, tobacco, and spices of cinnamon and mace. Mouth feel is full, full body, very warming, faint
carbonation, coating, and a bitter malt finish.
There is a lot going on here. It is good but muddled. Loved the brewery and other brews but this
George Dickel and Cabernet barrel oak aged brew is a touch too busy on the spice and booze front.
