Odds are, you will never find yourself in Holden, MA. The town is about 30 minutes outside of Worcester and easily missed--I drove by it twice before I found where to park. It is a small place and minimally decorated. By law, all establishments in Massachusetts must offer some sort of food. Here, it's in the form of chips and dips, which was pretty good. The point is you won't be having lunch with a fern here.

There were 12 beers on tap with a decent range, but a definite emphasis on IPAs. The beers were universally above average with some reaching a superior level. The atmosphere was informal and very friendly. The beertender was attentive and pleasant. The few patrons that were present often engaged in banter with lots of laughter.

In short, I recommend the visit and would even say it's worth a side trip if you find yourself skiing at Wachusett Mountain or in the Worcester area.
