We visited the NBC Sports Grill & Brew last Friday (5/10) on our last night of a lengthy trip to Orlando. Located on Universal Boulevard is this massive location, surrounded by several other "big name" restaurant chains and Universal themed souvenir shops. This area gives me a Vegas vibe as it's very busy, lots of folks on vacation and plenty of sunshine.
We were seated rather quickly by the hostess and were headed upstairs to the second level of this spacious establishment. Lots of vintage NBC memorabilia like banners decorate the ceilings upstairs. The environment was slightly industrial and perhaps sterile, but had a good pulse with a ton of flatscreen TV's located all over showing different sports.
Expect about 35-40 Drafts on tap and a few "house brews", I elected to go with a couple of North Coast Old Rasputin's that were delicious and served in 16 oz glassware. Other draft options included offerings from Bell's, Cigar City, Lagunitas, Dogfish Head and others.
Classic Rock was playing during my time there and I really started to feel my groove when 'Tom Sawyer' and 'Hot for Teacher' came on.
Service was attentive and friendly from our server, I ordered the wings and they were a great compliment to my beer. The food menu here consists of pub food like burgers, sandwiches, pasta dishes, etc.
Located in a the tourist heavy area of Universal Studios, this was a viable stop in search of quality craft beers.
