Got this from the brewery in Toronto this past summer
From a 500ml bottle into a snifter
IBU: 30
This is described as a Coffee Porter
APPEARANCE: Pours out a clear light brown and yields a one finger, medium looking, light tan head with decent retention. Transparent bistre brown in color with medium levels of carbonation evident for the style. Head fades to a full wisp. A splotchy wisp remains until the end leaving touches of lacing on the glass as it empties.
SMELL: Lots of roasted coffee, vanilla cream, milk chocolate, dark chocolate and mocha espresso. Decent coffee cream nose on this one.
TASTE: Roasted coffee, vanilla cream and milk chocolate up front. Flavorful for sure. Big finish of espresso, mocha, vanilla cream, dark chocolate and some decent coffee bitterness lingers on the palate. Flavorful and really enjoyable.
PALATE: Lighter body and medium levels of carbonation. A bit foamy on the palate, goes down fine and finishes a bit dry. Some bitterness lingers.
OVERALL: Excellent .This is aromatic and very flavorful. The feel is a little lighter for the style, but that is a minor complaint. I originally had this on tap at the brewery and it was just alright, but the bottles I took home were excellent. Highly recommended. Cheers!
