Got this one from the brewery in Toronto this past summer
From a 33cl bottle into a snifter
IBU: 66.6
Limited Edition
APPEARANCE: A clear black pour yields a 1+ finger, thicker looking, creamy, light tan head with great retention. Clear black body with no carbonation evident. Head slowly fades to a half-wisp and clings to the glass. A half wisp remains until the end leaving good lacing on the glass. Good looking but a little lighter in color.
SMELL: Huge grape juice aromas, like cool aid, with roasted and burnt aromas. Lots of grape juice. Kind of odd.
TASTE: Burnt malts, licorice, grape juice and tobacco up front with alcohol at the swallow. Bold finish of tar, licorice, tobacco, roasted and burnt malts, grape juice and some alcohol lingers on the palate. Strong, sweet and flavorful.
PALATE: Medium body with medium carbonation. Creamy enough on the palate, goes down fine with a decent burn and finishes sticky on the palate. Lots of heat lingers.
OVERALL: This is very sweet with lots of grape juice character. Not at all a roasted, chocolaty imperial stout like was expected. Not my style of imperial stout. As much as I enjoyed the coffee porter, this one more or less disappoints.
