From the 12 oz can in a snifter. This solid oatmeal pours a rich
coal black with a very nice head of tan foam that settles to a thick ring, thick
robust clumping layer, and shows some very nice lacing. Nose of toasted
malts, subtle char, dark chocolate, and herbal hops. Flavors follow the nose with
some exceptions with notes of char, deep roast, subtle smoke, dark bakers chocolate,
heavy herbal hops, and subtle dark fruits with touches of dark coffee. Mouth feel
is medium full tilting towards full, medium light carbonation, smooth, coating, and
finishing with a strong hop and char note.
Overall, solid for the style but a bit too forward on the hop front.
Cheers
