From the growler in a snifter. This very nice doppelbock pours a deep ruby
tinged dark brown with a moderate head of khaki foam that settles to a thick ring,
thin dusty layer, and sports some light lacing. Nose of subtle bourbon, dark brown sugars,
subtle vanilla, and subtle dark fruits. Flavors exceed the rather muted nose with dates,
bourbon, vanilla, subtle oak, dark cherry nuances, dark chocolate, figs, toffee, and
a hint of tobacco. Mouth feel medium, medium light carbonation, smooth, rich,
lightly warming, and finishing with a bourbon forward note and pleasant dark
fruits.
Overall, a VERY nice upgrade from the already excellent Conspirator.
Cheers
