I am trying this beer off the tapper at the brewery as part of an eight sample flight. It poured an opaque dark mahogany amber with creamy khaki head that is leaving a spotty lace. The scent had very subtle anise and vanilla notes. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to drink with bold roasty caramel malt base with vanilla, peat, and very subtle anise presence. The mouthfeel was lighter in body with good carbonation. Overall it is a great beer.
