Brewed with Maris Otter malt and layered with three different English malts and kettle additions of blackstrap molasses and maple syrup. Fermented with an expressive English yeast strain and aged for 21 months in a blend of blackstrap and spiced rum barrels. Aromas of oak and raisin are followed by sweet, fruity flavors of fig jam, vanilla, cherry, and honey

From the 500 ml bottle in a snifter. This solid unique brew pours a pitch black
with a faint head of khaki foam that sizzles to a thin ring. Nose of rum, molasses,
fig, date, dark cherry, dark bread, toffee, and subtle toasted coconut. Flavors follow
the nose with dark black strap molasses, dark rum, fig jam, dark cherry, toffee,
and still a faint toasted coconut note one can associate with dark rum. Mouth
feel is medium full, light carbonation, smooth, rich, warming, moderately coating,
and finishing moderately sweet and warming.
Not sure on the ABV, noting on the bottle but what I could find said 11 although
I am leaning more towards 12 to 12.6.
Overall, a fantastic barleywine.
Cheers
