Imperial Pastry Stout conditioned on organic coconut and barrel-aged coffee beans sourced locally from Soulful Cup Corning NY. It's thick, it's toasty and it's coconutty.

Pours very dark brown and is essentially black in the glass. A rocky head quickly turns creamy, light walnut. The brief cascading action adds a nice coating of golden lace on a Pretentious Beer Glass Company Aromatic Snifter.
The aroma is filled with dark roasted malt and toasted coconut. A mix of dark chocolate and espresso beans add character.
The roasted malt provides a strong flavor, followed by coffee and chocolate. The coconut is faint and accompanied by hazelnut. Lactose adds light sweetness. The finish is long and mild.
A soft cashmere texture masks the full body, making it seem light and fluffy. Alcohol is present, though less than expected. Carbonation is soft. There is a light astringency.
This is a good American Stout. A dessert beer, not to be confused with Pastry Stout. Aside from the alcohol level, I wouldn't really call this Imperial either. I enjoyed one glass of this before dinner, and the rest of the crowler after dinner.
