This beer is opaque purple. Purple, as in the One-eyed, One-horned, Flying Purple People Eater, purple. Look at the picture of the can. THAT purple. It is dense, with what might very well be chunks of... something. The lace is dense and violet, violating the walls of a Pretentious Beer Glass Company Pub tulip glass. Lacking clear guidance on the style, scoring is a cross between personal experience with other examples and personal opinion of the aesthetic. It is less dense looking and just as unappetizing to the eye.
The aroma has a strong punch of blueberry and clear marshmallow. Blackberry and raspberry, while lesser, are easily identifiable. Sourness seems light, like wet socks, though little to no brine.
The berry flavors, while muddy, are most definitely a mix of the expected. Blueberry and marshmallow are easy to isolate, while the tartness of the blackberries and raspberries are also evident. The finish is quick and sharp, and becomes dull as it fades.
Back to that chunkiness, this beer has an unmistakable pulp, similar to a banana smoothie blended with orange juice. Yet, there is a medium body with a wooly texture. Alcohol is more prominent than expected, yet, 5% is believable. Carbonation is fizzy. This beer is similar to a Mimosa in many regards. Okay, once I swirled and added the rest of the can, the body becomes much more dense.
This is definitely on the edge of what one commonly accepts as beer. Perhaps this is to beer what Mimosa is to Champagne. Quite tasty, mind you. It is easy to consume as an occasional experience.
