Appearance: Pours fudge brown with a vague tan film that fades away; thick and leggy
Smell: The Apple Brandy barrel is prominant but the Bourbon barrel is not far behind; rich chocolate and vanilla tones underneath
Taste: Chocolate forward with the barrel blend elbowing its way in; swirling the liquid around, the Apple Brandy and the Bourbon flavors intermingle with the Apple Brandy presenting its sweeter apple flavors and the Bourbon adding caramel and vanilla; the finish is moderately boozy
Mouthfeel: Full bodied with no carbonation
Overall: I find double barrel beers to be hit or miss with one barrel often overwhelming or clashing with the other; in this case, the barrels complement one another very nicely; I would prefer a bit more Bourbon but that is a quibble
