L: Had this beer on-tap at Capital Ale House - Midlothian, poured into a snifter glass. Had a jet black color and a thick, opaque consistency. There was a half inch of foamy, tan-colored, long-lasting head. Average lacing.
S: A pretty good aroma of chocolate, roasted malt, coffee,and a burnt quality.
T: Tasted of a fair amount of roasted malt (present throughout), a bit of the burnt quality (just a tinge, really), a decent amount of dark chocolate, and some coffee. Like the aroma, the flavor was a little unfocused. It wasn't necessarily bad, but the ingredients needed a little bit more oomph. Not bad, though.
F: An OK amount of carbonation with a mostly dry finish. Medium- to full-bodied.
O: This is an uneven beer, but not without its charms. Worth a try.
