A tasty oddball. Pitch black, oily pour with minimal tan, oily ring and zero lacing. Nose is dark, rich, hints of coffee, coconut, and a peculiar "synthesized" component. Taste offers up so many variables it definitely keeps me in the glass, and is its strongest measure. Standout roast up front, with chocolate, coconut, a generalized "berriness", cherry, overripe citrus (blood orange?), raisins, cocoa, and coffee; vanilla, raspberry, and "holiday spice" do linger in the background. Wouldn't call it balanced, by any measure, but interesting and tasty. Warming, a little boozy, but an odd feel. Messy but tasty...

L: Poured from a crowler to a pint glass. Had a jet black color and a thick, opaque consistency. There was a quarter inch of foamy, tan-colored head that quickly dissipated. Below average lacing.
S: A very nice aroma of coffee, chocolate, booze, roasted malt, vanilla, and citrus fruit.
T: Tasted of a decent amount of bourbon (and its accompanying barrel), a hint of citrus fruit (orange, in particular), a good shot of coffee (a big factor), some roasted malt (present throughout), and a decent bit of chocolate as well (quite sweet). A rich and warm flavor. It's definitely a coffee-centric, but in a good way. Tasty stuff.
F: A below average amount of carbonation with a silky smooth finish. Medium-bodied.
O: A well done, easy to like stout. Drinkable.
