one of the best kolsch types i have ever had, traditional but subtle in the usual ways, its not screaming german malts and yeast at me, but i know what it is right away, and the mellow chardonnay grape edition makes it one of a kind. this is insanely clean beer, crystal clear yellow golden with as much head as beer in the interestingly shaped glass, lively and bubbly and looking like champagne really, so sexy, and an impressive effort for how new these guys are, a batch one of this is hard to imagine, its already perfect. the grape character is slight, actually adding more fruity sweetness and minerals than actual wine aspects, unlike many of the other beers in here. its bright and obvious, subtle kiwi juice and ripe melon to it, but also obviously chardonnay grape, not a generic white grape thing. i like it being off dry in the middle, more room to taste the grain and the fruit, and then it gets snappy and cold conditioned feeling later on, carbonated brilliantly too. i had several of these while i was in, and along with the jasmine chardonnay saison, this is is objectively the best beer they are making in here right now. insane quality, i cant believe they have only been open a couple weeks, this is literally dessert island beer for me already. i want this non stop. an instant classic, seriously world class! i need more!
