The clean, 20% of Pinot Grigio grapes in this oenobeer compliments the classic, old-school Cascade and Centennial hop combination. These grapes and hops were both grown in the Willamette Valley.

there is a clash here between the grapes and hops, and like the other hoppy ones on the menu right now, the hops dont have as much flavor or aroma as they need to in order to make this work, instead, they are just vegetal and bitter, i think not fresh, or not well selected for the fruit, im not sure, but its intense without being interesting, which i am critical of in regular ipa, and have to be critical of here. this is probably the most offensive of all of them in that regard, still a neat idea and a well refined beer, but it almost seems like an inferior ingredient or recipe or something, the fruit lost to the hop bitterness, contributing mostly only its sweetness in this context, for me the element of hops and grapes just dont come together well in any of these, but especially this one. it was also a poor fit for their food, which i thought was incredible, and this just was incompatible with much of it, the hop burn bitterness was real, and it overwhelmed some of the flavors on the plate, even without having that much flavor itself. i suspect they will get these hoppy ones dialed in before too long, everything else in here is just so good, i think its only a matter of time before these get figured out too. this was my least favorite beer i had in here.
