Brewed with an obscure yeast harvested from the skins of New Zealand grapes, this Double IPA is deceptively quaffable. With a 20% addition of Marsanne grapes and a plethora of exotic aroma hops, this oenobeer is a first-ever example of it’s style.

L:. Pours a copper gold color with a small white head and no lacing, pours very clear and brilliant.

S:. Ripe tropical fruit mixes with notes of white wine grapes, some nuttiness, a bit of vinegar and acid.

T:. A nice interplay of white wine grapes and tropical fruit, a bit of nuttiness, a bit of vinegar and acid. Finishes dry, booze is well hidden, not your normal double IPA but very unique.

F: Medium carbonation and medium to heavy body.

O:. Not your typical double IPA, bit still very enjoyable.

the hoppy ones were not the winners here, i feel like there was a clash between the fruit and the hops in a lot of them, but this one was at least interesting because of the grape sourced yeast, which i think i expected to be funky or wild, but really isnt, unless its not real mature yet, but it was earthy and worked well with the grapes, it would be a cool beer without the hops. its unfortunate that they have made it as bitter as they have, i dont think it needs that, and it kind of trumps some of the more delicate features of this. on top of that, the booziness is high, which doesnt really benefit the drink overall. id like to see this yeast in something more subtle moving forward, and maybe keep the hops to a dry hop only, i could see a nelson or galaxy or something working super well in this, but its just green leafy bitter character for the most part, which was true in all three of their hoppy offerings. i like the grapes in here though, they have a freshness and a sort of sharpness that is cool. overall a neat idea but in need of some tweaking...
