oh my god, this one pushes the boundaries of what beer can be, and is a continuation of the already impressive range of beers these guys have done in their first few months. its done with a boatload of nebbiolo and barbera grapes, pours still and syupy from the tap, and is something of a grape based barleywine, or gives new meaning to barleywine, in that its basically wine, drinks like a mature port, no joke. it has all that nuance of dense fortified fruit, green walnuts, tannins, and fusel alcohol, its robust, but its not at all unrefined. things like prune and blackberry jam jump in, expensive italian red wine for big meals, and still some semblance of grain to this in the flavor, although there is no debate that the grapes lead the way from start to finish. its slick and huge, lingers on the palate forever, and even burns going down like a grappa or something, its strong like port too, stains the teeth, and makes me feel woozy, warm, and sleepy all while feeling extremely satiated. not sure i can drink much of this, but in a little port glass or something it would be idea to close out a heady meal. these guys are really doing a nice job with these wine grape beers, different and inspired each time. do not miss this one!

L:. Pours a dark purple red with almost no head and no lacing.
S:. Sweet dark fruits and grapes, smells quite a bit like port, alcohol is very strong in aroma.
T:. Dark stone fruit and cherry, sweet red grapes, very sweet and decadent. A bit of acid at the end.
F:. Heavy body with a smooth carbonation.
O:. Big boozy and decadent, this is a perfect pair for dessert.
