Light orange colour with a layer of quickly disappearing foam. Weak smell of yeast, cloves and bread. Taste is better however: malt with ripe fruit (pear, fig), herbs (ginger) and some sour and bitter hints from the hops used. Rich and complex, though it could have been a bit less sweet for my liking. Refreshing with a soft and smooth mouth feel, with an aftertaste that lingers well. Quite nice.

Poured into a Duvel tulip. The liquid is a cloudy yellow, and the pour kicks up a good-sized white head that fades to a nice film after a couple minutes and leaves a good amount of lace.

Aroma is musty fruit with a citrus kick. I get apples, grape skin, oranges, a bit of earthiness, and a moderate helping of musty grape cellar. If you told me this was a saison I would believe you.

Flavor follows the nose - lots of musty fruit and earthiness. Really does taste like a fruit cellar (if such a thing exists). There's also a subtle minty, spicy kick to it, which I think is from the gruit. Still, it tastes mostly like a saison.

Mouthfeel is medium-bodied with a nice creaminess and a moderate amount of soft carbonation.

Overall, nicely done, but this is not what I expected from a koyt... although the only other one I've tried is the Jopen. This tastes like a saison with a kick, where the Jopen tasted pretty much unlike anything else I've tried.

300 ml bottle, poured into a tulip glass. ABV is 7,5%.
Appearance is disappointing. Half the way through the pouring, I realized it was not going to have any head, so I poured even harder. It didn't matter. I was left with just half a finger of white head, that disapperad straight away too. Colour is slighty hazy, orange golden.
Aroma is fruity and yeast. Smell a bit smoked too.
Taste is sweet with peach notes, yeast and white grapes. I would say it has a complex taste, but not necessarily in a good way. There are some off flavours that I can't tell exactly what they are, but I can tell they are, well.. off.
Quite thin on the body, light carbonation.Only a little bit dry on the palate.
Overall, this was disappointing on so many levels. Even more since I had other beers fromm this brewery and they were pretty good. Anyway, this beer has nothing to do with a tripel.

A clear, orange golden beer with a settling head.

Smell of light malt with hints of dirty laundry and vegetables.

Taste is pretty sweet and has some honey and toffee notes. The vegetable smell can be tasted too. Very little bitterness. The alcohol is well hidden. I don“t have a clue why this is called Abbey beer. There is a dry yeast taste to the beer anyway.
