This beer pours black and is topped with a minimal mocha head that leaves no lacing.

Big chocolate aroma as soon as I pop the top. I get some vanilla and caramel. Hints of anise as it approaches room temperature,

Chocolate flavor. More anise in the flavor than in the smell. A little boozy.

Fuller bodied with a smooth mouthfeel

Good beer. The smell was great.

I got a bottle of this beer from the brewery. It poured a motor oil thick opaque dark with tan head that is leaving a spotty lace. The scent had rich dark chocolate and bourbon. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to sip. There was dark chocolate, fig, and bourbon presence. The mouthfeel was fuller in body and had smoove carbonation. Overall it is a solid beer.
