(Served in an American pint glass)
A- This beer had an inky black body with a rim of light tan head clinging to the edge of the glass. Floating on top of the beer was a scum that looked like old coffee which was a bit odd.
S- The smell of dark black roasted malt and a hint of dark roasted coffee was in the background.
T- The taste of dark malt was followed by a distinct cardboard note and a black coffee finish. The cardboard has a faint buttery quality to it.
M- This beer had a medium-light mouthfeel with a watery texture which was a surprise for such a dark beer.
D- I'm not sure what they were going for in this beer but it had a lot of things working against it. The smell was nice but still more complexity of malt would be nice. The taste needs much improving.
