Fruity Mornings
Vitamin Sea Brewing
Date: 11 Mar 2021
In a box; I sent out earlier this year, a recipient in Massachusetts said I need to try this brewery. I received this beer a few weeks later. I used a Jester King glass and served the beer around 46 degrees. The pour created a two-fingered frothy and airy white head. The retention is poor and left no lacing on the glass. The color of the beer charts around SRM 6, pale straw color with light golden hues. The clarity of the beer is mostly clear with some haziness. I did not like the head-dropping faster the weather in Eastern Idaho.
The aromas in the beer are berries, marshmallows, fruity sweetness, oranges, milk, and lightly toasted malts. The fruitiness is overwhelming, to the point, it is hard to detect anything else. The fruit aroma is on the brink of counterfeit fruit odors.
The flavors are oranges, berries, milk sugar, lightly toasted malts, marshmallows, and a weird sugary sweetness.
The mouthfeel is coating and carbonated.
The body of the beer is light, has medium carbonation, and has a medium finish.
This beer is far from a sour, but it is what it advertises on the label. Do I like it, No? The chemical fruitiness distracts from the beer. Will I rate it bad; No? The beer is not sour; I cannot detect any sourness. The beer is a gimmick, and good at that.

The color is a slightly hazy burnt orange with a finger of white head that dissipates immediately. The nose is ..... oranges. And sherbet - like peach sherbet. It is sour-ish, but not really sour because there’s a subtle creamy aroma. Like an orange creamsicle.
The orange creamsicle flavor is forward, prominent, confident, and delicious. There’s also some peach, but it is definitely in the background.
This doesn’t have the mouthfeel of a sour, it’s more like a cream ale.

Slightly hazy, lemon yellow body; very restrained head production, with a thin off-white topper that quickly disappears.
Smells very sweet, like sugary breakfast cereal with a touch of sour tang.
Same experience on the palate. There's a very light sourness, but barely enough to even call it a sour. Instead, the emphasis is on fruity and grainy cereal tones.
Light on the palate and absolutely crushable.
This is not a beer for everyone, but it 100% nails the intent. Truth in advertising.
